Feed efficiency, usually measured as by the conversion rate, is one of the most important parameters in the profitability of farms. This technical session aims to guide, inform and discuss the factors that affect feed efficiency, its economic importance, the mechanisms for its estimation and the advances that are being made for its improvement. The session will conclude with a round table discussing practical aspects of the measurement of feed efficiency in farms. The session is aimed at rabbit farmers, veterinarians and technicians of the sector. The speakers will be researchers from the Institute of Research and Agro-food Technology (IRTA) and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), as well as veterinarians from the Federation of Associations of Rabbit farmers of Catalonia (FACC).

L'eficiència alimentària, normalment mesurada com a índex de conversió, és un dels paràmetres més importants en la rendibilitat de les explotacions cunícoles. En la jornada es pretén orientar, informar i debatre sobre els factors que afecten a l'eficiència alimentària, la seva importància econòmica, els mecanismes per a la seva estimació i els avanços que s'estan realitzant per a la seva millora. La jornada conclou amb una taula rodona on es tractaran aspectes pràctics del mesurament de l'eficiència alimentària a les explotacions cunícoles. La jornada està adreçada a cunicultors, veterinaris i tècnics del sector. Compta amb la participació d'investigadors de l'Institut de Recerca i Tecnologia Agroalimentària (IRTA) i de la Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), així com veterinaris de la Federació d'Associacions de Cunicultors de Catalunya (FACC).
