Feed-a-Gene Season 1 Episode 2: Modelling biological functions with emphasis on feed use mechanisms

During the Feed-a-Gene stakeholder meeting held at the EAAP annual meeting in Tallinn (August 2017), a series of 10 interviews of researchers associated with the project was filmed. In this second episode, Veronika Halas presents the approach of Feed-a-Gene's third Work Package. In episodes 3-9 (to be released in the following weeks), work package leaders and researchers will present the other Work Packages and the results obtained so far.

Feed-a-Gene at the FOOD2030 conference

Jaap van Milgen, coordinator of the Feed-a-Gene programme, talked at the FOOD2030 conference of the European Commission, about feed efficiency and the role of livestock in sustainable food production. Feed-a-Gene's rationale and results were at the heart of his presentation. The entire conference was filmed and is available online.

Feed-a-Gene Season 1 Episode 1: Jaap van Milgen talks about the rationale and goals of the project

During the Feed-a-Gene stakeholder meeting held during the EAAP in Tallinn (August 2017), we filmed a series of 9 video interviews of researchers associated with the project. In Episode 1, coordinator Jaap van Milgen discusses the rationale, goals and expected impacts of the project. In episodes 2-8 (to be released in the following weeks), work package leaders and researchers will present ongoing scientific activities and the results obtained so far. In the season finale, Jaap van Milgen will conclude about the current state of the project.

Two new Feed-a-Gene peer-reviewed articles

Feed-a-Gene researchers have published 2 peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of Animal Science that deal with genetic parameter estimations and contribute to the progress of WP5 "Use of traits in animal selection". These articles are in Open Access and can be downloaded by clicking on their title. JAS Banner

Feed-a-Gene 2nd annual meeting 2017

The 2nd annual meeting of the Feed-a-Gene project took place on 26-27 April 2017 in Lleida, Spain. It was hosted by the Universitat de Lleida and attended by 72 participants. Researchers presented 12 communications and attended a demonstration of the precision feeding system.
