The Feed-a-Gene Book of Abstracts 2016-2017 is available! It contains 11 abstracts of communications, scientific papers and book chapters written between March 2015 and April 2017 by researchers affiliated with the Feed-a-Gene project.

Feed-a-Gene's post-doctoral position at INRA Rennes

Part of the Feed-a-Gene H2020 project, this one-year research position will focus on statistical analysis of omics data for predictive models of feed efficiency. Applications should be send by 20 march 2017.

Precision feeding and feed efficiency : Open competitions for Junior Research Scientists at INRA (France)

INRA recruits tenured researchers and engineers and welcomes several hundred foreign researchers and students. Permanent researchers of all nationalities are recruited through a competitive process to select highly-qualified candidates. They are tenured from the start, and they can express their creativity and reach a level of excellence for the pleasure of discovering and developing effective applications useful to society today. Permanent engineers of all nationalities are selected using the same competitive procedure. They have major technical and managerial responsibilities.

Precision Livestock Farming: a workshop by AFZ

On 12 of October, the AFZ (WP7 Communication and Dissemination) organizes a one-day workshop dedicated to Precision Livestock Farming (PLF), in Paris. This workshop addresses all livestock species and will provide examples of already existing PLF systems. There will be a special focus on data management (collection, treatment and related costs).

H2020 Science Communication Event

Valérie Heuzé (AFZ, WP7 Communication and dissemination) attended on behalf of Feed-a-Gene the H2020 Science Communication Event held in Manchester on 24 July 2016. This event organised by the EU was aimed at Horizon 2020 coordinators. It focused on effective science communication techniques necessary to produce a "win-win" situation for researchers and media as well as other science communicators.

The first Feed-a-Gene newsletter is available! It presents the current state of the project and provides progress reports for all the work packages.

1st Feed-a-Gene Annual meeting Foulum, Denmark

The first annual meeting of the Feed-a-Gene project took place on 26-28 April 2016 in Foulum, Denmark. It was hosted by Aarhus University, one of the project partners. The meeting was attended by 74 people, including 14 representatives of stakeholder organisations. The meeting was organised in two parts: the Stakeholder Day (26 April), for the stakeholders, and the main sessions (27-28 April), for the consortium partners.
